March 5, 2010

Dear Parents,

The KCs are holding their annual Fish Fry every Friday night in Cargill Hall.  Adult plates are $8.00 and the food is great.

Sunday, March 7, is First Sunday Mass.  Students who attend the 10:30 mass in Full Dress Uniform will receive a free dress coupon.  This weekend our school choir will be singing at the 10:30 Mass.  This should be a special treat to everyone who attends that Mass.

Last week all students received a registration form for the 2010 – 2011 school year.  Registration is on a first come basis each year so it is important to get your papers in before registration is open to the community.  Registration fees, for returning students, do not have to be paid until May 3. The registration fees went up but these fees now include many items that you pay during the year such as joining the PSA.

Each classroom is collecting items for a basket to be auctioned off at the Hoop De Doo on April 18.  Your child’s teacher should have contacted you by now as to the theme of their basket and what they need.  This year we are hoping for some big items to go in the baskets.  Some examples would be a beach house for a weekend for the beach basket, a trip for planes, trains and automobiles, tickets for a spa visit, blue ray player for the family night basket, etc.  If you can help with another class’s basket with a big ticket item please let the teacher or room mother know.  See the attachments for a list of classroom baskets and suggestions for auction items.  I would like everything to be in by April 9.  This gives you plenty of time to put together some dream baskets.

The classes will continue with their testing next week.  Students who miss because of illness should be prepared to make up the missed tests in the afternoons.  The teachers are also spending the afternoons reviewing material for testing the next day. The ITBS tests are different from the Stanford that we usually take and all of us are interested in seeing the results.

Wednesday, March 10, is an Early Dismissal Day.

Friday, March 12, the students will attend the 8:30 Mass and the students need to be in Full Dress Uniform. It is also the end of our reporting period and report cards will go out on Wednesday, March 24. Remember to keep Fridays as meatless during Lent.

Spring Break is the week of March 15 – 19.  This is a school holiday for students and teachers.

Students in 3rd – 5th grade will have Science Fair Projects due on Wednesday, March 24.

Future Dates:

Thursday, April 29, the 4th – 8th graders will present a Spring Program.  We do not have a theme yet since the students are still in the process of choosing what they want to perform.  The program will be presented Thursday night and again Friday morning.
